Single Component Polymer Modified Fairing Coat
Estopatch Fine is supplied in powder form to which water is simply added on site. It contains special pre-blended cements, graded sands, fillers and chemical additives to provide a mortar which has excellent thermal compatibility with both concrete, and other types of Estopatch Products.
Estopatch Fine is a specially formulated thin layer mortar to be used as part of the Estop Concrete Repair System to reface concrete after repair. It can also be used independently as a render of up to 3 – 5 mm thick to face up brickwork and other types of masonry. The addition of polymers gives Estopatch Fine an extremely durable finish which will not desiccate.
Estopatch Fine can be used in vertical or soffit repair applications.
When completing patch repairs to concrete elements ensure that the surrounding concrete is clean and free of dust, plaster, oil, paint, grease, corrosion deposits and any other deleterious substances. Laitance should be completely removed by high pressure water blasting, grit blasting or a combination of both. Oil and grease deposits should be removed by steam cleaning, detergent scrubbing or the use of a proprietary degreaser. Any remaining dust or loose material should be blown clean with oil free compressed air.
Estopatch Fine should not be applied if the substrate is subject to moving water.
For a durable finish all surfaces should be thoroughly soaked prior to use ensuring that there is no residual surface water.
For optimal performance a layer of Estobond Acryl shall be applied.
Estopatch Fine can be hand-mixed for small quantity. For large quantity a pan mixer or a slow speed drill fitted with spiral paddle shall be used. Add 7.0 – 7.5 litres of water per 25 kg bag, depend on the mix consistency needed and mix for 3 – 4 minutes. The yield is about 15 litres per 25 kg bag of Estopatch Fine
Application of Estopatch Fine should be by steel trowel from a “feather edge” to 3 mm. Estopatch Fine should be applied to the complete area requiring treatment and be allowed to partly set before finally trowelling to a smooth finish. If a very smooth surface is required a small amount of water may be flicked onto the surface of the Estopacth Fine with a paint brush prior to final trowelling. Estopatch Fine may also be finished with a sponge float.
Estopatch Fine should be removed from tools with clean water immediately after use. Cured material can only be removed mechanically.
