A Ready-Mixed Polymer Modified Cementitious Plaster

Description

Estop Skimcoat is supplied as a ready to use blend of dry powder which requires only the site addition of clean water to produce a highly consistent cementitious skimming mortar.

The material is based on a blend of cements, graded  aggregates, special fillers and chemical additives to provide the material with good handling characteristic, while minimizing water demand.

The product exhibits excellent thermal compatibility with concrete.

Uses

Estop Skimcoat is designed for use as a skim finish on walls and ceilings. It is widely used in today Hotel, condominium, Bungalow, Luxury Apartment and detached houses etc.

Application Instructions

Surface Preparation

Clean the surface and remove any dust, unsound material, concrete laitance, oil, paint, grease, corrosion deposits or algae.

Slightly wet the surface prior to receive Estop Skimcoat. Mixing

Care should be taken to ensure that Estop Skimcoat is thoroughly mixed.

Estop Skimcoat should be mixed in accordance to recommend mixing water until a smooth, creamy, lump free consistency is obtained. Mixing water is approx 7.00 – 7.50 litres per 25 kg for Estop Skimcoat (Base Coat) and 7.50 – 8.00 litres per 25 kg for Estop Skimcoat (Finish Coat).

Application

(A)Base Coat

Apply the mixed Base Coat to substrate by steel trowel from featheredge up to 5 mm thickness.

It should apply with minimum of working and trowel to an even and smooth surface.

(B) Finish Coat

If a very smooth finish is required, Finish Coat shall apply to provide the desired finishes prior to allowing the skimming coats to cure.

Curing

Estop Skimcoat does not require curing.

Cleaning

Estop Skimcoat should be removed from tools, equipment and mixers with clean water immediately after use. Cured material can only be removed mechanically.

Limitation

Estop Skimcoat should not be used when the temperature is below 5°C and falling.

Do not proceed with the application when rainfall is imminent unless in a sheltered or protected situation.

The product should not be exposed to moving water during and after application, before final set of Estop Skimcoat.

Technical Support

Estop offers a technical support package to specifiers, end-users and contractors, as well as on-site technical assistance.

Storage

Store in dry and covered condition. Estop Skimcoat has a shelf life of 12 months in an unopened container.

If stored in extreme heat condition, the shelf life may be reduced.

Precaution

Estop Skimcoat contains cement powders which might be harmful to the skin. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves, eye protection and respiratory protective equipment.

In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice. If swallowed. Seek  medical attention immediately do not induce vomiting.
